Armenian National Security Service: any destabilizing actions will be neutralized

The National Security Service of Armenia has promised to take all measures to neutralize any actions aimed at destabilizing internal security.

"The National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia will take effective measures stipulated by law to preserve the constitutional order of the country, protect the rights and legitimate interests of the state and citizens, neutralize any actions that destabilize internal security," the service said in a statement.

On September 19, Azerbaijan launched an "anti-terrorist operation" on the territory of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. Baku accused the Armenian Armed Forces of strengthening combat positions in the region, as well as of systematic shelling of Azerbaijani positions. The Armenian authorities called it a lie. During the first day of the operation, 25 people were killed.

In the evening, people began to gather in the center of Yerevan. The situation at the Armenian government building on Republic Square began to heat up, stun grenades were used.
