Putin: by 2030, 1 million drone specialists will be trained in Russia

The drone industry is developing very quickly, and Russia may lack even 1 million specialists, who are planned to be trained by 2030. This was stated by President Vladimir Putin during the open lesson "Talking about important things" (RBC broadcast the event).

"We have a program until 2030, we need to train 1 million specialists in this field. Even that may not be enough yet, because [the industry] is developing very quickly," Putin said.

From this academic year, Russian schools begin teaching the basics of the use of drones. It will be carried out as part of the course on initial military training, which will be held in schools at the lessons of "Fundamentals of security and Protection of the Motherland" and will be mandatory.

Students of grades 10-11 in the framework of the module "Fundamentals of technical training and communications" will get an idea of how to use drones in combat and conduct reconnaissance with their help. In addition, students should know the "algorithm for countering enemy UAVs" and "perform practical actions to control UAVs".
