Andrei Fursenko, Assistant to the President of Russia for Science and Education, said that the Chinese language will gradually be included in the programs of scientific educational institutions in Russia.
This is reported by RIA Novosti.
"There will be no violence, we will convince, but at the same time we will move in this direction if we want to be competitive," the official said.
In his opinion, Chinese is not the only language of science that is worth studying. Fursenko added that it is important to preserve Russian as one of the main languages of communication between scientists.
Earlier it was reported that in Russia, purchases of Arabic textbooks have almost quadrupled and Chinese language materials have almost doubled.
Also, the chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy Inna Svyatenko said that in 2022, 40 thousand people studied Chinese in Russia.
